came across http://www.tabooclick.com/ which apaprently looks at browser settings and what not to see if it's a human or a clickfraud bot that's clicking on your adsense. Still in beta, but it does look promising. I mean, if the browser doesnt have javascript, how could the 'user' click on the ad?
found it in a comment (http://www.threadwatch.org/node/7347#comment-41836) on a threadwatch thread (http://www.threadwatch.org/node/7347), where the guy claims Google banned it because it was detecting levels as high as 30% fraud...
I think the whole thing's outrageous, especially after Eric Schmidt is widely reported as having said that advertisers should factor in click fraud in their costs. I think there'll be a class action lawsuit now.
Anyway, Koz has written a blog on some of the problems and issues surrounding click fraud (http://www.digital-m.co.za/seo-blog/2006/07/protect-your-pay-per-click-ppc.html).
Cheers,
Paz.

I know that Google etc, have a click fraud system that identifies the IP address that the clicks came from. Although a bot can mask an ip and select a random one, im sure that Google would be on top of things.
As i am not a huge Overture fan, Their basic technology is terrible, never works, always down for maintenance, the reports are 24 - 48 hours delayed ( should i go on)
I dont think that overture has even heard of something called click fraud, they are too busy fixing bugs.
Maybe someone should send this post to Overture,

I spent a couple of thousand on overture uk a few months ago. As far as I can tell, I would have been better off walking up to the roof of my apartment building and throwing the cash off.
I also know from talking to several online casinos, they are finding that overture ( Aimed at UK Market ) no longer brings anywhere near the amount of results in terms of new players, as it did in the past.
To be honest, I would dedicate any marketing spend you have available towards off site optimisation - in the way of obtaining relevant traffic from the site you advertise on, or by improving your inbound links from themed sites.
Apparentlly Overture has “click protection” designed to detect click fraud based on over 50 factors. But according to benedelman's (http://www.benedelman.org/news/040406-1.html) reports, some notorious spyware programs are receiving payments from Overture.
Is this just conspirecy theory or do you think this could be happening?
Cheers, Koz
