Well, i'm close to launching a blog using Wordpress, and while searching for SEO-related plugins, have came across WP-Cache (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-cache) (makes a cached copy of the urls), All in One SEO Pack (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/) (deals with Meta data) and SEO Title Tags (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-title-tag/) (also deals with meta data). These have proven to be very handy, and my question is....
...anyone else know of cool Wordpress plugins? :)
Well there are quite a few plugins for multimedia content. interaction, and especially seo tweaks.
Jim Westergren has given some cool WP hacks and WP plugins for SEO (http://www.jimwestergren.com/seo-for-wordpress-blogs/).
Here are 8 "invaluable" WordPress plugins (http://www.pingmag.jp/2006/06/22/8-invaluable-wordpress-plugins/), but the stats and navigation are the best ones in my view.
Here's a plugin for optimising your WordPress title tag. It actually reverses the <title>Blog name - Post name</title> which makes it more of an SEO plugin (http://elasticdog.com/2004/09/optimal-title/).
If you want to optimise your meta data, then here's list of excellent Word Press meta tag optimiser plugins (http://wp.uberdose.com/search/another%20wordpress%20meta%20plugin/).
And if that's not enough for you plugin junkies, then you can have a look around a WP plugin directory (http://wp-plugins.net/).
This last resource isn't a plugin at all, but you must visit pingomatic and register your blog (http://pingomatic.com/) with about 20 different search engines in one go. Don't do this until your blog has matured and is well indexed in Google. Much of your blog content will be be scraped by autogenerated MFA sites. Your content can go supplemental if you don't have enough backlinks. Google make no effort to rank original content.... it's the site's relevance and links that matter, and these scraper sites can outrank you for your own content in the beginning. Putting links in posts; "We recently spoke about plugins for WordPress (http://forums.digital-m.co.za/showthread.php?p=3366).... " can help build your link popularity, as some of these scraper sites do quite well in Google.
Cheers,
Paz.
