A blog received from Media Post Publications covering study done on click fraud:

The scary thing is that because of this confidence is being lost in pay per click advertising.

Something to really think about

Nice find Dwaine! :)

I know my opinion is probably controversial but although click fraud is a reality I tend to side with Google on their statement. 14% is a rather large percentage as far as fraud losses are concerned. At the end of the day it is all about ROI. I am pretty confident knowing Google they will do everything in their power to ensure as little as possible click fraud takes place in their network. Online marketing is pretty simple in that regard. If advertising on a site has alot of clicks but little conversions at a ratio that is not profitable enough,... drop the advertising.

Hmmmm... I think 14% is an under-estimate of the level of click fraud, though I've never seen any estimates specifically for Google.

I'm sure Google are acting but the problem is that they can't tell what they're doing to combat fraud because that would alert the fraudsters.

It's not enough to close accounts and refund monies. I want to see some high profile arrests... maybe a public flogging or two would send a clear message.....

Cheers,
Paz.
