Yo,

I've been constructing this site for a few weeks or so and am nearing completion with it, so I though I'd asked for opinions, etc.

the site is animescene.za.net, and I'm using wordpress as the CMS :) This site is partially a learning experience on my part, and Im having a ball of a time customising it.

yeah, there're posts up and Im getting some traffic, I'm mostly focusing on the SEO of the site (robots.txt is still blocking robots) and some UI tweaks here and there.

The plugin Im using for the meta data is decent but not powerful enough. Im wanting to add custom keywords (currently it uses the category name(s) as the keywords), especially to the homepage, so Im thinking of ard-coding those in. The description is pulled from the opetional excerpt of the post.

So, what are your thoughts? :)

Looks very good. You need to add a "trackback" field so people are encouraged to link back to you. They get a link out of it. You should also leave trackbacks on other people's blogs when you cover an article to boost your own link popularity and to tap into their traffic. I'd cover the best articles of all the many blogs about Japan that there are out there and leave trackbacks to on one you cover.

I'd also look at installing a blogroll. Make a few up for now and eventually when your blog takes off you'll be added to other people's blogroll's. It's like reciprocal linking in the blog world.

I see you've installed a lot of good SEO WordPress plugins, but blogging is mainly about capturing traffic and you need strong content to do that. Yours seems pretty good.

Thanks :) My target audience is the SA anime community, with a slight bias on the Cape Town group :p The main aim is to become an information resource for them to help build the anime community in SA :D I am drafting several other pages, some of which will be link bait :) I've got some good ideas to that would hopefully do well on the social media sites

As for the trackbacks, all my blog posts allow for those and I will be covering other blog posts soon.
