Found a article about it at search engine land: http://searchengineland.com/070508-133000.php
Looking at the screenshots, I can see that they offer a host of information in some pretty graphs (lol). However, I still think that server log analysis can be more useful, as it deals with the actual traffic on your site - Analytics uses javascript so it can be disabled

Yep... analytics is good to give an idea... maybe... gave it a 2-3 day go with one busy page, cause I was not changing thousands of pages to add the code. I did not freak and just tossed it aside cause my log analyzer does a much better job at telling me page per page what is going on.
I'm not hot letting a third party know what is going on with my sites... and I also noticed an occationnal slowdown when loading the page with the code. More you have gadgets requiring an other site to act uppon a request of loading a page of yours can be slowed because of that other site being down or busy.
I think if you wanna have free cheap stats, get a hosting that supplies Awstat and don't bother adding extra analytics code to the pages... or use a log analyser... even better.
