Though I'd share this 'cos I think its cool ;-)

The Mayor of Cape Town and Leader of the opposition party Helen Zille (affectionaly known as GodZille) is making use of Zoopy and other forms of social media to campaign and interact with the people.

I don't want to get all political but I think what she is doing is realy cool and forward thinking. Check her out here: http://www.zoopy.com/helen

That is pretty cool, lots of politicians have been online in the US for ages, but this is the first time I've heard of a south african politician going web 2.0

But she's a mayoress not a mayor isn't she?

Yup, that would be putting it better. But I've noticed lately that folks here are rather just using the traditionaly "male" words like mayor, actor, waiter to refer to males and females. Makes things simpler i guess

and more politically correct :p

It's a good move to participate in the Web 2.0 movement, as she can reach a lot of younger voters that way :)

It's cool to see how even politicians, traditionally not ones to embrace technology, are trying to connect with people via technology.

Even if I don't think she actually writes any of the blog's content, lol
