hi there, welcome to the forum.

I don't know how many people would be interested going to a site that only has adverts on it. It would be helpful if you included a search box where one could type in "library" and then the page pans over to the library.

I agree Koz, it would make it so much more user friendly! :p Horizontal scrollbars was never and will never be a "trend" ;)

Well, its definately an interesting idea. Kinda like that Million pixel page thingy crossed with the Sims or Habbohotel. Only problem I see is that (for me at least) there isnt a reason to go back to the site once i've already been once.

I look at site and I see a lot of potential for an interactive community. Perhaps you could develop it that way, and offer advertising space as well? You'd have to get the mix right so that the people don't get get overwhelmed/pissed-off with all the advertising around them...

Yeah, like koz said, i'd also like to have a search bar to help me quickly roam around the place. The map is rather large :)

This sounds like a great idea. Make the site look more of a portal / vortal (depending on what you want) and less like a billboard.

Well, the thing I had in mind is something like habbohotel (www.habbohotel.com) crossed with gaiaonline (http://www.gaiaonline.com/) and maybe the sims.

habbohotel features the same sort of graphics as planetofinternet (ie, pixelart), and allows you to create an avatar and roam around the rooms and talk to people. basically an interactive bunch of chatrooms using Shockwave

Gaiaonline is one of the largest forums on the net, and is HUGELY interactive. basically, you also create an avatar, and earn 'Gaia Gold' through user interaction (mainly via posting in the forums, taking part in polls, etc but also through playing the flash games and whatnot) and you use this gold to buy clothing and accessories for your avatar, as well as buying virtual homes and whatnot which you can also buy furniture for. bit more on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaiaonline

So, my idea was a mixture of the two. you have an interaction place where ppl can walk around and talk to each other or something like that, and earn some sort of currency to be used in the site where you can buy property or whatever. Very rough idea but Im sure you can see what I mean. You can then offer billboard space for advertisers, using real cash :p
