yeah, it's true. Are they gonna ban themselves now?

according, to agerhart (http://www.agerhart.com/seo-rankings/yahoo-caught-cloaking-will-they-ban-themselves/), who was surfing as Yahoo's Slurp! spider and visited their Auto's page.

Well, I want to see how Yahoo is going to explain this little piece of hypocrisy, as their rules clearly forbid clocking pages (http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/deletions/deletions-05.html)

Yes I heard about this story via threadwatch.

I'm sure all the major search engines use black hat methods including, Google themselves have been caught cloaking (http://www.threadwatch.org/node/1773). To give them credit at least they did say that if they were caught they would apply a 30 day penalty to themselves and the people responsible for that part of the site had to apply for re-inclusion.... I remember it very well but can't find any discussion of that part.

Cloaking many Black Hat SEO techniques that came from a search engine for the purpose of hiding the actual content of the page name. Actual page is not visible to the search engine spider. Page content that is attractive to visitors, but when they click the link, they have a completely different page which, Cloaking using less evil keyword rich pages search engine service, and regular visitors pages. Yahoo, in its own auto listings was caught cloaking.
