View Full Version : ASK to become no.1
I recently read an article on seochat (which i rarely do), but for some reason the author of the article is adamant that sometime soon-ish ASK (ask.com), will become a big rival for the big "three", and possibly move up a few places in the search engine usages
What do you think? :)
Well my first reaction was "NO WAY" but I've just had a look over at some keyword searches, and the SERPS aren't bad at all, as good as Yahoo and certainly better than MSN.
Also they've moved the sponsored links to the very bottom of the page. That makes SEO people like me very happy, but it can't be good for their PPC revenue.
I think they've improved a hell of a lot since I last looked about a year ago and I think they could be contenders.
Cheers,
Paz.

Phew, i am glad to hear that! ;)
IMHO I do not think Ask has a chance of giving Google and Yahoo any kind of threat or run for their money at the moment. MSN for sure, I mean they just really suck...
It seems Ask still are completely unaware of this forum as well, except for the digital-m blog despite the site being around a while now.
My new sites are not in it at all :???:
It still has my OLD websites that has been 301'd 5 months ago ranking with old descriptions and URL's. As far as the Geolocation searches are concerned they also seem way behind. If you look at the direction search is moving Ask without a doubt needs to do allot of work still.
Yeah, ask is really frustrating
they have 4 month old sites that 301 to the new site still ranking higher than the new site

I personally dont think that they have the vision and resource.
Technoglogy is not the problem, the probl;em is the mindset of the users, people automatically default to Google and Yahoo
Other internet users who are not to informed about search engines, carry out searches from their favourite news portal, as that is their main browing area.
An example if BBC
