Hi,
I found a new toy from Google. Strange that they would release a new product when they are apparently having indexing problems now and that Eric Schmidt has conceded that their machines are "full":

Anyway, here's the tool; it compares the number of searches over a given period and references them with news stories.
See for yourself; I've set it up to compare the number of searches for "Google", "Yahoo", and "MSN" (South African searches):
