Internet has been down the last 24-36 hours

Really P*ss*s me off when you rely on it so much as well

Have a lot of work to do to catch up

How would you cope without the net? :)

Yeah I had a couple of losing internet most afternoons... I got my wife to give the telecom company a rollacking and they said there were not problem their end. It turned out my modem was overheating in the hot afternoons... it was like 35-40C in the shade.

Depending on what the condensation would be like, an option would be to plonk it in the fridge, lol.

Hi,

May I ask what internet connection type you are using (wireless or ADSL)? Usually ADSL isn't down for such long periods - it must be your area's exchange (not like other areas would be -that- much better lol) :(

Best wishes

Ah yes, it's also usually just the ISP's DNS servers going down that causes a lot of the problems.

Glad to hear it's not happening anymore ;)

luckily, my wireless ISP buys lines from a range of okes so it one line goes down you invariably get switched to another one :) On a side note, apparently the hostile internet connection environment in SA (thanks to telkom) breeds some of the best technicians in the world
