I was wondering if MSN have recently changed their searches to be very regional.
If I do a search on MSN.com for "Mommies" worldwide my site now comes up at number 1.
There are many more sites out their with a lot more links and pages which are using the same keywords which are coming up under mine.
Obviously I am chuffed at being number 1 but I have just started the SEO process of my site and didn't expect to be in the top 4 pages of the international search for a while still.
Obviously "Mommies" is not as popular a keyword as other out there but I find it strange anyway:confused:
Wow congratulations! I couldn't find your site on the first page of msn.com when doing a search for "mommies", but it is first in msn.co.za.
Look at this: http://www.google.co.za/search?num=50&hl=en&q=mommies&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryZA
You are 1st in Googl SA (sa searches only)
Congrats again!

Thanks, but now I am more confused.
Oh wait... the brain kicked in :)
MSN is defaulting me to msn.co.za when I click search, which is then regionalised even though I didn't tell it to search in SA only.
I see I don't even exist in the real world seach yet...

don't worry! You are in 80th place in Google.com and Google.co.za (world searches).
Thats not a bad start

Yes, MSN is showing very strong localisation in "world searches". When Windows Vista gets released next year, it will probably come with MSN as the default search engine, which will be nice for all of us!!
Cheers,
Paz.

AFAIK it is getting released with MSN as the default but the pc makers can change it.
Dell is going Google I am sure and I would guess IBM would as well....

Yeah, its gonna be pretty exciting, im very interested in seeing how MSN are gonna hit the market, im sure that Microsoft have got something up their sleeve, they would just lie low while Google have been doing their own thing,
Lets see
