Ive just finished my research into this and heres the final post:

http://www.clickalite.com/technorati-100-digg-homepaged-8000-times/

Basically i discovered that:

79 of the technorati 100 have hit the digg homepage
out of the 21 that havnt 8 aren't english
ARSTechnica is the most Dugg Blog (Over 1300 times)
With Engadget 2nd hitting the homepage just over 1,000

I did it all manually so took a while, hope you like the results

Update: Just received some very good news; will update when its out there = sweeeet (http://www.problogger.net/archives/2007/08/07/technorati-top-100-how-many-times-do-they-hit-the-digg-front-page/#respond)

Update: Been mentioned on 2 more blogs both in the technorati top 100 (andy beal and marketing pilgrim) :)

Update: Just got a ping I'm on the daily search cast (podcast for search engine land) so checking that out now. Just downloaded it and they spoke about it for 30 seconds, was never mentioned personally nor the site but did get a link in the show notes

Update: Got on the homepage of TechMeme

I didn't write all this to 'show off' but mostly show that with a bit of good content and getting it out to the right people you really can get some great traffic and have you and your website go viral across the social web.

I think i can relax now, its amazing how many of those top blogs have people syndicating their content, had a lot of trackbacks i had to delete :)

LOL... exciting stuff Glen and Dugg as Enderpatrick.

I can't help asking, which came first; "technorati or Digg" or "the chicken or the egg" and that's what most people are discussing.

What are your thoughts?

Good question and thats what Danny Sullivan was discussing with Shoemoney on the daily searchcast.

For some its one and for some its the other. For example icanhascheezburger.com made the homepage of digg then its traffic just blew up, its only been on the homepage once and then its technorati started rising.

However I'm sure there are sites that were popular enough to be in the top 100 and that exposure led to people digging them. I know theres at least 1 example on either side so theres no clear cut case ;)

Both can help each other :)
