Universal Search is something I am starting to get more interested in and something I find quite exciting.

How do you think the use of images and videos cropping up more into search results should change a clients internet marketing campaign?

i do, because people will have more options. it may become necessary to try appear in the image searches as well

I'll give a quick example now that I just found before the post is on the site in a few days

A search for <Hurricane Dean> on the first days of the event show news at the top of the search results. In a few days however, this search is going to result in more Images and Video's showing up in the results. Because that is what people are going to be looking for

All these personalised results / and universal search results are helping people find what they want much quicker, stats show.

Yeah I guess all our clients will have to have Google Maps, YouTube videos and a Google Base feed.

Everyone should have a Google Map reference on their "Contact" page. It's very important for local searches. I wrote a little about it here;
