Do you Understand LSI?

One of my favourite bloggers (who is an SEO) Lyndon recently wrote that he didn't know what LSI really was over here (http://www.cornwallseo.com/search/index.php/2007/08/16/17-reasons-not-to-read-my-seo-blog).

In his comments a lot of people said the same. And I will be honest, I don't get it either.

It's not that I've read about it and didn't understand it, because I'm sure if i searched around I could interpret it all. But do you really understand Latent Semantic Indexing right now without Searching and can explain it below? :shhh:
