Why did you get into Internet Marketing?

So why did you get into this industry and why are you still in it? :p

I got in to sell the poker software I made... then with my cribbage software... I was supposed to get rich with this... yeah right... lol

I'm still in the game cause I stopped wasting time messing with making software and make more money off my sites than when I used to work as a manager for an other idiot.

Believe it or not, it was never my intention to go into SEO, I didn't even know what it was until I got a job in the industry last year, and believe it or not, I didn't even know that my job required me to do SEO..hehehehe. Well after I found out exactly was SEO was and how it works etc, it captured my interest and I really can't seeing myself doing anything else....maybe I'll specialise and do some SMO like you Glen. :p

I was a secretary at a IT recruitment agency. A job spec for an SEO came on our books and no one really understood SEO so they asked me to research it a bit. I did, fell in love with it, made a mission to pursue a career in it.

I love it 'cos it can be so diverse. A true "jack of all trades" job.

Someone interviewed me for their blog once and Ill just quote my response:

A year or two ago I was looking into how I could get my Lycos Tripod site (that still exists) to rank in Google. After a few months I saw it listed but wasn’t really getting any traffic so I started to pursue the root of looking [at] how to increase my Search Engine rankings for ‘computer related terms’.
