Ethical SEO

Was just wondering if anyone has comments on ethics in SEO?

I did an article on the blog about it: " Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Code of Conduct (http://www.digital-m.co.za/seo-blog/2006/09/search-engine-optimisation-seo-code-of.html)" and would like any feedback.

Nice article! We've already discussed SEO certification (http://forums.digital-m.co.za/showthread.php?t=104) and we've tried to come up with some sort of SEO Code of Conduct because the only one we'd seen was one written by Bruce Clay.... a bit like getting a guide to sound financial practice from one of those nice Enron guys, in my opinion... haha

I think it's a good idea to get up an SEO code of conduct early. Too many people don't know what SEO is, and certainly aren't aware that search engines can punish hard sites that break their guidelines. I'm sure there'll be interest in it as awareness grows, and buy that time the page will have matured in Google.
