View Full Version : optimisation for mobile browsers
Hi all,
Personaly I'm very interested in optimising web sites for mobile browsers. I put up and article on the subject here: "How to Optimise your Web Site for Mobile Browsers (http://www.digital-m.co.za/articles/seo-for-mobile-browsers.html)"
Has anyone done optimisation for mobile browsers?
Nice review article on designing websites for mobiles! I've never looked at it to be honest. Most of my sites aren't suitable at all for mobile browsers or PDA browsers even.
I'm not sure what sites might apply. I guess people on the go would be surfing the net with their mobiles for information, news, maybe hotels or something. I'm not sure if any of my sites fall into that category but it doesn't look too difficult to design the pages to be mobile friendly. I'm sure more and more people will be going online with their mobile telephones in the future.
Has anyone here ever used a mobile to access the internet?
Well I think a great reason to optimise a site for mobile devices would be so that when mobile users find your site, they can go back later on their pc. A friend of mine does that, when he's bored, he'll just look up sites on his cell then go back later to the sites on his pc.

I have to admit SMF forums come with the ability to have mobile users on. VB just plain sucks for it and needs optimization.
SMF FTW :)
