Hi all,

I woke up this morning and after my usual routine... logged into wellinformed and just sat there staring. Overnight i have gone from 4-10 users visiting at the same time to 90+.

What is the meaning of this? Does it mean that Google has finally respidered my site? I seem to be getting a continual hit ratio of 20-30+ visitors perm today..... im extremly happy with this but am curious as to why?

These of course are after the changes i have implemented from advise given to me from you guys and girls ;)

Hey Snoopy,

Have you had a look at the log files. I would be very interested in knowing who these visitors are ie: is it the Yahoo slurp spider.

Daniel

Amazing how the Yahoo slurpies come in gangs.

Daniel, it looks like the latest SEO changes you have applied to your site has created some interest from Yahoo! This is a good thing, but I think you urgently need to add to those changes a serious link building campaign so Google can get interested as well. Get some deep links into some of your internal pages as well, I found with SAM that it helped me outrank sites with much more backlinks than me.

There's a gold mine of info in your stats and you should learn how to use your stats software properly.

I don't use AWStats but there will be a whole section dedicated to search engine visitors. There'll be referals by search engine, with the search terms that visitors used to find your website... in other words phrases that you rank for.

I'd sit down for 30 mins and look at every option/menu and really familiarise yourself with the package.

One of the ways I obtain deepliks is by writing articles, making forum posts, exchanging links with others in my links network, publishing articles and then linking to others, and them simply mailing them letting them know I did so and asking for a link in return.

Lets say I wrte an article about "orange wedges" and "wedges with sharp points" I would do a search n Google.com and look at the sites ranking 40-100 for the keywords. I then select the pages I feel is most approprite and then analyze the pages and ensure that they are well themed for the specific keywords. The best one I choose will get the backlink. That webmaster will then get an email from me complimenting them on a fine website and that I linked to them with a contextual link. They are normally so happy that they offer a link in return. Lets say I have 5 contextual links out, I normally get one or two back to a new article I write.

The way I see it, I added quality content to my site and linked to a quality resource. This in itself normally do wonders for my rankings, getting a contextual backlink back is a further bonus.

There are inexpensive article writing services out there. We used to use Weirfire (http://www.weirfire.co.uk/) until we got our own people. Their articles are a bit hit and miss sometimes, but if you ask them they'll re-do them if your not happy with a particular writer.

Hiring them is definitely an option, you can get 400 word articles pretty cheaply on http://forums.digitalpoint.com aswell :-)

The conversation longplayer Artangel invites two cultural leaders, aware of his work, but never met, to participate in a discussion inspired by the philosophical principle of a project that takes place in real time, over a millennium.

It seems that recent changes you apply SEO to your site has created some interest in Yahoo and this is a good thing, but I think you are in dire need to add these changes to build a serious relationship until the campaign can be found on Google is interested in as well. I found that I get some deep links in some pages of your interior as well, with Sam that he helped me with the highest ranking of the sites background much more than me.
