Hi There

I am pretty new to whole SEO thing and unfortunately dont have a huge amount of cash to splash on advertising.
My domain is a few months old now and i have seen increases in ranking for quite a few keywords as well as my site going from a PR0 - PR3.

My question is if i would like to target a specific keyword such as "Poker Chips" by using links from other sites what would be the best way to do this?

I unfortunately didnt know even the basics when i started and 90% of the link look something like this:

Title: SA Poker Shop
Description: ........

Should i rather be using

Title: Poker Chips
Description:........

also would i then point that link to my homepage or should i point it to the page it's referring to?

Please could someone help me .

Ok, well the anchor text should be the keyword term you're targeting. Thus, if you want to rank for "poker chip" then the anchor text should be "poker chip". When you come down to it, the link should point to the page that'll give the best conversion rate (normally an internal page) but in general having all the links to the homepage is bad. You should try mix it up by having links point to the relevant internal pages too, as this looks more natural.
