Just had a look at www.pokerforum.co.za their database has been hacked by some turkish hacker to give sanalkampus some backlinks. :shhh:

They must be fixing it... can't access the site. Got my poker related site hacked also once... had to change the passwords, but they hit again... so I moved the site to an other hosting... been ok since then.

Yeah,

the guy's exploiting an SQL injection vulnerability. There have been patches out for a LONG time but many hosts haven't bothered to update.

The thing is that this guy just promotes himself. There are more subtle hacks where they inject cloaked links to their site. You'll never see them normally but Google does and counts them as a backlink.

The best way to check is to look at the cache of your pages, but I've recently seen cloaked, injected links that are grey text on white background. Be very careful!!!

The webwiz forums has two database options for a MS box. My casino forum site was ranking very well in Google untill the same thing happened to me. I was using an access db and it got hacked very cleverly. The hacker added hidden text in several posts and also added hidden page redirects. Needless to say my forum droppped out of the rankings shortly after. We only noticed it a few days later. I must add I deserted the forum since then as the damage was done, sigh... Still ranking top 5 in MSN and yahoo for the keyword "casino forum" though lol

lol Glen, Nope it is still bringing in about $200 each month so I just let it be. The main reason I deserted it was that I simply do not have time to work a bit harder on it. I am planning on working on it again some time.
