I'm sure it wont be quite the standard of Aaron Wall ( ), but im underway on writing an "SEO Guide" i prefer to call it, but its really going to be kind of an ebook. Im going to release it in PDF and Release it on my website, its something I have wanted to do for a long time, as you guys know i love SEO (cant get enough of it) so I write about it daily in my blog. My next step was a book that even if it just helps one person i recommend it too then i will be happy.

There are things such as the seomoz (http://www.seomoz.org/beginners.php) guide, and also Aaron Wall's seo book, this will be Completely FREE just like the seo moz version which i think is good but very basic, and aaron walls is also good but not free, and not everyone starting out can afford it. Hopefully the book will be something im just glad i have, and i will keep it updated with changes in the search engine world. I plan on it being quite large, im 13 pages in and still only half way through on page optimisation so i can expect its going to be large  . I dont class myself as an expert, although I feel i have learned a hell of a lot in such a short space of time, due to the amount of reading and testing i have been doing. Therefore i feel its a good time to write something as i have had a big learning curve and everything is still fresh.

Just thought I would share it here first, and yes, of course this place will get a backlink or several

P.S Paz you will be getting the first copy so you can tell me what you think before i release it to the world (probably in a few months hehe)

Hi Glen,

I'm sure a free e-book with a link to your site would be a good idea to promote yourself.

I'm sure there's space in the market for a more "practical" SEO ebook. By that I mean examples of SEO work on a particular site over time. That would be graphs over time of indexed pages (search engine crawling), backlinks and of course rankings and traffic.

I also think the SEO books out there don't give enough advice on the problems a site can have at the start, getting themselves indexed, avoiding duplicates, supplementals etc. Then there are also the problems people can have with scraper sites.... "Practical SEO" I'd call it.

Looking forward to seeing it anyway!

Hi Glen, that sounds exciting! If you want you book to be more accessable, maybe sell individual chapters separately? But then of course you'd also sell the full length version of your book. For more exposure for you book, why not have a look at this site for publishing it? http://www.lulu.com/

Good luck!

Nice idea paz, i do really want to try and cover EVERYTHING i possibly can, but no more then i feel i dont have the knowledge to explain myself. Maybe using my own site in a challenge of one of the most competitive seo rankings on the web would be a good idea?

Thanks Koz, the idea really is to keep it 100% free, just a simple download from my website, really this book was something i wanted to do for myself, but releasing it to others im sure will help other seo's/webmasters across the web:)

Great idea Glen. I must ad that Paz has a very good idea with the research book. I for one would be very interested in reading a book based on facts.

Get some pictures... I don't read books unless they have pictures.. haha

Seriously, pop me a PM with your email and I'll give you a few charts and examples you can use... can't give you the client's url unfortunately, but I don't think that will matter.
