Good day

Can you guys give me the best or some of the best tools to use for keyword research. Do I have to buy these tools or are there free tools available?

I used www.digitalpoint.com. The site has a great keyword tool that provides geo-targeted overture search volume for your selected keywords. I have heard Wordtracker is also very useful but its not free
:( . Does anyone know if Wordtracker can be Geo-targeted or if it only provides USA stats?

My favourite keyword research tools are at http://www.nichebot.com and Google Suggest:

The nichebot tool uses the same old wordtracker and overture data but it has a few extras such as a thesaurus and a keyword analysis tool.

Don't forget overture lumps together singular and plural searches, so can overestimate on the number of searches for a given term - so it should only be used a qualitative guide.

Google Suggest is a pretty cool seo tool. As you type a phrase, it generates a drop down list of alternates with the number of results for those particular queries.

I think only seo people will be using Google Suggest, and they must know that. Maybe it's an olive branch to the SEO community....

I have always been a bit skeptical about the results that wordtraker and Overture provide,

Overture only gives gives an indication on the traffic across their network, but i dont know what % of total traffic that is.
