Hey all

What do u guys think? Is this Mr Millers predictions/speculation? If this is fact, can he back it up?
Come on im really dying to hear your thoughts on this one:o Im guessing its just another form of "linkbait" he he ;)

SEO professionals will have to more diligently and acutely focus on the end user
Well thats happening any way! Mainly because search engines are forcing us SEO to due to their more and more intricate algos forcused on bringing users quality content.
Personaly I don't think that many people use personalised search because security conserns. (though i could be wrong)
But honestly if there was no longer a "race for number one position" so to speak... where would we be left standing.
Untill he can show stats on how many people are using personalised search, I'll have to say its speculation

I REST MY CASE!!!:) Thanks Koz
Hmmmm interesting, but I think I agree that SEO'ers will have to develop their writing skills to compete in the future as Google relies more and more on on-site factors.
I think SEO people already understand about web site usability and function because we spend too much time looking at other people's web sites for ideas LOL

One thing Im curious about is how you'd get any sort of stats on how many ppl use customised search. I doubt Google will release such data, and I doubt they'll add it to the querystring for you to capture it in your server logs! A problem I can see rising up is where to be successful you have to try not rely on the search engines as much as before, if personalised search becomes more widespread! :(

SEO's days are not doomed, nor will the job description fade away. If you look at what has happened to SEO over the years since it started not a measly 10 years ago, it has undergone changes very rapidly and very strongly. No longer do you modify a few meta tags and spoof you rank #1. No longer do you ad your keywords to the H1 and rank #1, No longer do you alter your keyword density to rank well. Things are changing in search world constantly. I have shared my opinion several times that SEO's will have to be extremely adaptable to ensure they stay in touch with the requirements. What is happening atm is very good for the SEO industry, infact the fact that search is getting more and more complicated makes SEO a requirement broadening the market for SEO's to thrive in. No longer can companies ask the webdesigners to get their sites to #1, no longer can web design companies claim to also include SEO. No SEO is getting more and more specialised. This is good for SEO's and it is good for the industry! SEO's are being raised to become Online Marketing Specialists in the sense that they need to keep online marketing aspects in mind when doing SEO.

So what does the future really hold for SEO?
"IMHO" as long users carry on wanting organic results, our presence in the world of SEO will be needed! Although the game changed and is not just a silly play of "snakes and ladders" more a strategic game of "monopoly" (if u know what i mean)
It would be sad seeing us give up now as I see this change in SEO as only the beginning of endless oppurtunities!!! :o Its going to require looking much further than where u can score a good link or 2..But we really need to start looking through the eyes of the "user" more now than ever bofore! We really need to take a more balanced approach and refraining from the highly specialized skills we previously relied on...Im very exited about whats happening and about to happen in the world of Search...brain a bit fried of all the reading, trying to catch up and keep up with the "rest of them" but no giving up yet...I wanna be there "when it happens" 8-) Can i get a "whoo whoo"? :p
P.S. this is not fact nor speculation, just my opinion!
