Thats a pretty tidy sum :) Only thing is is that spammers are very, very sneaky. I don't expect many ppl will be generating incomes out of this.
Lol, perhaps a few spammers could be convinced to rat out others ? ;)

Well with the quantity of spam out there you should easily be able to track a couple of them. There are several that go about it stupidly so I figure it is worth a try. lol
Soon I will start my company called "Net PI" lol

lol, that'd be a cool company :D
Perhaps for an added fee you could track them down and break their fingers, so they can never type out another spam email again XD
Yeah it looks to be quite a strict anti spam legislation in South Africa. How severe are the fines though? I mean if we report each other we might get the reward and only have to pay a small fine... LOL

Well, I wouldn't say we have strict anti-spam legislation BUT, certain areas of spamming is ilegal by law. You can be sentenced to 12 months in prison or an unspecified fine. According to the ECT act (http://www.info.gov.za/gazette/acts/2002/a25-02.pdf)the sender of an unsolicited advertisement (commercial advertisement) must comply to the following 3 rules.
The sender must provide the consumer with the option to cancel his subscription to the mailing list.
The sender must identify the source from which the consumer details was obtained
If a consumer opted out then the sender are not allowed to send another communication to this consumer.
As you can see there are some problems with this law that doesn't make spamming truly illegal, also spam sent to legal entities such as companies are not deemed illegal as it specifies natural persons as the consumer.
