Hello. i hope my site isn't construed as ****ography as we sell adult products and lingerie. if its considered that, i apologize to the admins. Ive had some great input here for my other sites, so I wanted to get some feedback on the new one.

This site has been on the backburner for a few years now as our sister site which sells lingerie for women and men was missing this very side of things. We decided to make a another site for these adult novelties instead of including on the sister site. After years of being asked to make such a site, we just opened up http://www.eroticnights4u.com and im looking for feedback on how it looks and performs in your opinion.

Again this is a site of an adult nature -

Thank you for your time.

Hi Dan,

Good to see you again! Don't worry about the posting the site, it's very tasteful and we're not so prudish.

I had a look at the site and it looks good, I like the carefully thought out navigation and so will the search engines.

There are a couple of things.

Your printer friendly pages are being indexed, which is causing you a duplicate content issue. I don't think it's so serious yet but I would block them in two ways. First add a nofollow tag to the link to the printer friendly pages.

Secondly I'd block them with a robots.txt;
Disallow: /product.php?printable*

Also on your product pages you have the option to sort by price, product etc and Google seems to be indexing these pages. I'd nofollow all these options except the default option, which gives you a search engine friendly URL.

A blog's always a good idea but I think you could make it a bit more "fun" as well as informative - but I don't know your client base.

The blog is using syndicated content. Because you're site's new you won't rank for that content and I'd re-write it if I were you. Not a major re-write just enough to get it indexed properly.

Also you should tidy up the blog a bit by creating search engine friendly URLs (look for permalinks in your admin). I'd also remove the Archive (you have categories and they have better relevancy) and the Meta links eg login etc.

I'd also nofollow your RSS and RSS comments feeds to prevent a duplicate content problem.

You're cross-linking the blog, which is a good idea because if people scrape your content they end up linking to you.

Yeah on the whole it looks pretty good. Good luck with it.

Cheers,
Paz.

Hello my friend...... It's been awhile. I was hoping you were still here. Thank you so much for the review and the mention of its content. Ive had to be careful on this side of the pond which amazes me, so thank you for those kind words upfront.

My other site is still on that miva platform if you recall the sheer and utter terror with that one, so this site i decided to use the xcart platform which I truly love. Im sure you are familiar with it. Those URL friendly links you see were achieved by installing a mod called dsefu. I had thought the robots text had all the info in it to prevent duplicate content, so im so very glad you found a hole in that setup. Duplicate content if you recall hurt my other site for years & I never want that ugly head surfacing again. I added your Dissallow command to the robots.txt straight away.

As for the product pages for price etc, im unsure what i should put in the robots.txt for that... Minus a few mods i did etc, im still pretty green to the xcart setup and am not sure if a no follow option can be added to individual pages like that.

As for the blog, first let me say once again thank you... Our other site rebounded from past woes based on your mention to do a blog. From that, a blog was one of the first things i setup for the new site. Unlike GFL though, we haven't got a fantastic setup as far as articles go...On GFL we have a bi-weekly content of articles written by a fantastic lady.. it is this type of content id like also to have on this new blog. Im not sure what you meant by syndicated items as of now though, if you could clarify for me.

I shall set admin to to a different link style also. Which one would you suggest, we are using wordpress (on server) and they have a few options for link styles. Right now its at default.

wow, sorry for the long post bro...... it's been so long this sorta turned out to be a novel of reminencing.

Thanks for listening and I wish you and yours the best in life my friend.
