Google offers more backlink info

So theyve decided to be more generous in the amount of link data they give out. Still not a complete list, but its better than what they give now

Only problem is is that you have to use webmaster central to get it.

Nice try, Google. You try to look helpful by only holding back some of the data this time round. How about not being ***** and give us all the data, dammit.

Google are in my view very good with the spread of missinformation, but I am happy with them providing more info and these would certainly be more usefull.

Google rely so heavily on backlinks in their algo that they can never give a complete listing of backlinks.

Google don't give credit to certain links from certain pages. If a link appeared in Yahoo, but didn't show in any "complete" list from Google, then that would give away too much info wouldn't it?

PS don't use that tool on any client's sites ;)

A 1000 page site shows 233 internal links to main section pages that are linked from all of the 1000 pages. So yes, it's not showing all internal links, but since I would never look at the pages one by one to find out, it's good with me. The point would be more to see you forgot a page and it has only 2-3 links...

Our site www.indiabook.com has more than 73000 pages listed in Google but webmaster panel shows 385 internal links to home page where as all internal pages are linked to homepage. To what extent it can be relied for taking many decisions about a web site.
