I am busy writing an article about the the Google patent on 'Information retrieval based on historical data' and wondered what everybody else thinks about it.
My main reason for writing the article is that recent research I have done, makes me believe that this is being applied into the Google algo. It is a very long read but my main focus will be on the historical data kept for links. Now to make it as short and sweet as possible I believe that one very important thing SEO's must look at is not changing links to often on existing pages.
In other words when obtaining back links and when giving back links do not buy links from companies like linux.org that changes their links every few months.
Another point I will be making is that fresh content being published on sites might have more strength when your link is located contextually from day one rather than added later.
There are a few other points I will address but wondered what all of you thought of this patent?
I can't seem to get the link to work just search for it at http://www.uspto.gov
