A security seal such as? It is important that the security seal should be from a trusted source. Yes it will definately have a positive impact on the website sales as people will rather part with their creditcard details with a trusted website. Infact I would go as far as saying it is a requirement!
Hi,
I'm sure for a shopping site it could also boost your rankings too. I've always had a feeling, but no proof, that an "about us" with an office address, email address, tel and fax, as well as lots of "click here to buy" or a shopping cart, testimonials.. there are all things that I'm sure will help rankings for online stores.
Matt Cutts has given a little hints:

and there were other posts I can't find right now...
Cheers,
Paz.

We have a type of security seal on our site. It's the Network Solutions Site Confirm seal. It tells clients that Network Solutions guarantee our transactions up to the value of $50,000.
Since we got the seal, which does actually involve a number of very real tests and checks, clients did appear to be more inclined to part with money to pay for services through our online payments systems. Some clients commented they were happy to enquire about our services because of the site confirm seal.
Our clients pay for search engine submission, and optimisation through our website - and also for web design projects. It's difficult to gauage how much sales went up by, if indeed they did at all to be honest - but the clients were definitely more comfortable talking to us in the first place because of it.
Personally - I think the seal looks sexy. :shhh:
