Keyword density is the measurement in percentage, the number of times a keyword or phrase appears compared to the total number of words in a page. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase. Due to the ease of managing keyword density, search engines usually implement other measures of relevancy to prevent unscrupulous webmasters from creating search spam through practices such as keyword stuffing.

The formula to calculate your keyword density on a webpage for SEO purposes is

(Nkr / Tkn) * 100.

Where Nkr is how many times you repeated a specific keyword

and Tkn the total words in the analyzed text. This will result in a keyword density value.

Keyword density is a combination of the number of times a keyword or a keyword phrase, in proportion with other words, appears on a Web page. The more times the keyword appears in relation to the total number of on page words, the greater the overall keyword density. The more times that other words appear, the lower the proportion of keywords, resulting in a lighter keyword density.
The various search engines, including Google, Yahoo, and MSN Search consider keyword density as part of their search algorithm. Each search engine has a different mathematical equation regarding the density of keywords that is rewarded with higher search ranking placement. There is also a different level of tolerance between the different search engines as to the degree of density permitted before a penalty is imposed.

Keyword density can vary when analyzing a page for various search engines. Different search engines may use different stop words or stemming techniques, resulting in a word being counted by one engine and not counted by another. Aside from the problem of determining what constitutes a word, there is also the problem of determining which tags various search engines will support. The most basic scenario might have a search engine using only <body> text. More elaborate scenarios might have a search engine using <body> text, ALT tags, META tags, comment tags, and a handful of other tags.

Google search engine in particular, uses artificial intelligence to control the content. So the keyword density of 2-3%. Extraordinary use of keywords makes the contents of bland and boring for users. So try to use keywords, title, license, 1-2 times the content.

The necessary keyword density for a keyword to rank in Google varies drastically depending on the keyword phrase itself. A good tip is to look at the competition for the particular phrase you are targeting and see what their keyword density is and match it or beat it slightly.

Keyword density is often just that the word is given as a percentage of total words. The following PHP code to the output frequency of each word in a string, indicates that the keyword density is not a complex calculation.

Keyword density is a kind of comparison of the frequency of a keyword to the bunch of other words that are used or presented on the page. The repetition helps to assess the importance of keywords or phrase to the text.

The quality of the content is always important when it comes to content! Want to keep readers read without feeling like you are selling something, so the more natural your keyword selection is the best. Most customers prefer to work with a target density of 1-3% in order not to sacrifice the quality of its content or its reputation, sales and spam.

Thanks For sharing best information. Really your information is good and very useful for everybody. Here some more information. Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. I think that high content with reduced keyword density would be effective, but if you lack the content, then I think that increasing the keyword density would work to compensate for the lower content.

Keyword density is the most important decision a Content writer has to take as it will affects the overall performance of the web page. A Good density might revolve around 3 to 5 % of the entire content on the page. But a recent updates of Google Algorithm which is known by the name as Panda updates states that now keyword density doesn't make any sense as a single keyword is enough to convey the importance of it. It seems I have to make more research on it.
