To add links at the bottom of pages for better seo
True? False?
I did this on my pages at http://www.girlfriendslingerie.com
Good idea, or not?
Opinions please.

hmmmm... links at bottom of pages... as in a footer link? Well, it can help with SEO, but if its a sitewide then not really, Google devalues them...
Hi Both,
I think footer links can really help spiders navigate a site, as well as adding lots of anchor text with rich keyword content.
Yes Google devalues sidewide external links, but datagg meant his internal linking didn't he, or have I got that wrong?
Cheers,
Paz.

Yeah - as Paz assumed, text links at the bottom of the page simply to help navigation and easy/fast spidering is a very good thing. Internal links being the key.
Looking at the site posted, thats what they've been used for - so thats fine.
I notice they merely duplicate whats on the left menu - but I don't see any problem with it anyway.
Point to note though:
It's most beneficial, generally speaking, where there's an absence of links to internal pages. It's not "required" where there's already a link to every page. That said, as is the case here, it likely helps to have the keywords in the text links and likely benefits the site as a whole.

Thanks guys.....
YEah they are alomst the same as the left links//Some words i changed a bit to get a closer word to what the engines currently see as the more beneficial way of wording them..its not a complete list, (for the left nav is vast) but to my most popular pages and category sections.....
thanks for all the input though, i was concerned that i made a wrong move here.....
Bless all
Dan
