Launched Today : My local news aggregator site!

I've put together a nice little South African news aggregator page that allows you to read all of the latest news and headlines from a wide selection of local newspapers, websites and other sources, all on one site.

It's currently still in testing and development, so all suggestions and comments are welcome. Please feel free to play around and let me know what you guys think.

I think that's absolutely fantastic. I love the way you can split the news by category, change the fonts etc.

I have a few suggestions. I would add RSS feeds to each page, maybe a few other social feeds we mentioned previously eg;

MyYahoo feed
MyMSN feed

You can't really have every page <title> with "News" or you'll hit a duplicate content filter. You need to change that to "Sports News" for example.. maybe stick a few "South Africa" "from South Africa" "SA" etc.in there as well.

The third thing and it's not so important but easy enough to do is set up a mod re-write so that the url looks less like

http://news.phorum.co.za/index.php?category=sport

and more like

http://news.phorum.co.za/news/sport

Thanks very much for your observations / suggestions. I seem to have overlooked the title tags completely while I was putting the site together. Most of the other things that you mentioned are already on my "to do" list :)

Once I've sorted out some of the new features I'll be adding a "Blogs" section :)
Eventually there will also be some sort of contact form that will allow people to suggest other feeds/sources, etc.
