When did Yahoo start updating daily?

Hi,

We've talked about Yahoo crawling frequency increasing over the last few months, but in the last month or so Yahoo seem to updating their serps on a daily basis now too.

Up until recently Yahoo seemed to update once a month, and it was quite a big event for me. This last week the serps seem to be moving daily in the financial sector, which kind of takes the fun out of checking!

Seriously though these mini updates, and that's all they are, must nonetheless be a huge drain on resources at a time when Yahoo are laying off staff and looking to save money.

Well apparently in the last few months they have made their crawling take up 25% less bandwidth, I notice the spiders crawling like crazy (much more than other bots) on my sites but to be honest i dont check yahoo serps that often

Yes they've been crawling like crazy for months, but I didn't see the point if they weren't up dating their serps as regularly.

Yahoo are indexing some new pages within a few hours, see for yourself. That makes sense, because they can't compete against Google for SERPS quality, but they can compete for "hot" topics eg "Britney Spears shaves head" if they crawl regularly. I think they've found a nice little niche.

Yes, now days, yahoo keeps update every time. but it post news after hours.
