View Full Version : Please review my site!
Hi ppl
please can you review my site! http://www.mistypeaks.co.za
Thanks in advance! :-P
Hi there Grey!
Nice design. I wanted to head up to the Drakensberg last year but didn't have the time. Must go this year!
You need to get more backlinks for your site. This will be a lot of work, but worth it. Approach other travel sites for these links, espesialy ones focusing on the KZN region. If that accomodation is animal friendly you can get a lot of traffice under "animal friendly" categories (and then send me the rates ;-) ). It couldn't hurt linking out to other related sites that aren't in direct competition to yours.
Add more content to each page of the site. Loads more!
And redirct your your non-www version to your www version.
ooh and almost forgot... include a site mape listing all the pages on your site.
Thanks, yeah its my design :) I did this site for my folks they built a property next door to them and they rent it out, very very classy place i must say , everything u need for a luxury holiday and its in a world heritage zone!
Anyways back to the comments , thanks! am working on getting my back links its going to proove rather tough task i must say am also going to try work on content but its tough because how much can you add to it considering that its an single unit accommodation site so there is not much to say about about the place.... going to to try look into it that . maybe add in news for the area!
Thanks for the comments :)

Hi Grey,
Welcome to the forum!
That's a lovely site. Koz is right though, it needs a sitemap linked at the footer of every page. I'd also expand the text content on the bookings page and the galleries section (and add alt image text tags). In fact you haven't alt image text on any pages; you can inject a few targeted keywords in there but don't overdo it or the SEs will smell a rat and it'll be counter-productive.
Adding content is tough and you seem to have thought of everything. I would do regular Google News searches for drakensberg (http://news.google.com/news?q=drakensberg&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&um=1&sa=N&tab=wn) and cover these in your own words in the form of a blog.
I'm sure you can get a few ideas from the official tourism site;
http://www.drakensberg.org.za/
but remember do a proper re-write; otherwise it's counter-productive.
Which keywords are you targeting anyway?
Cheers,
Paz.

Hi Grey! Welcome! Glad you could make it! Guys this is a talented DJ, graphics designer, web developer and a friend so please be gentle! lol... Not!
Well here goes my review...
The site is aesthetically very attractive, a site I feel people will be able to associate with. Navigation is descriptive and easy to use.
Conversions
As far as converting from the home page are concerned I would look at maybe adding a map of KZN and where exactly it is located in terms of the coast and so forth. I am thinking of tourists abroad, not having a clue as to where Misty peaks are. Pricing could also maybe be converted into USD for ease of use.
SEO
In terms of SEO. I feel the site lacks weight. What I mean with that is pages targetting specific keywords. You need to look at adding content with keywords such as 'holiday in south africa' ; 'vacation in kwazulu natal' or more information on requirements for travel to KZN. Perhaps also look at content featuring sites in and around misty peaks. Target other keywords that people would be interested in and create pages targetting those specific keywords. You actually have very little content for SE's to make you rank for and I believe adding more content can have a huge effect on your referrals.
Link building
I suggest you visit my Directory List (http://forums.digital-m.co.za/showthread.php?t=548) post and start doing submissions to some directories. This will already help you alot with link building. A further issue I have with your site is the fact that there are no incoming links to the internal pages. This is extremely important and you will be shocked to see the results once you obtain backlinks to them targetting the keywords for the specific pages
Thanks for all the help and nice comments guys! :) will work on it the second I get some time to add it to it :)
