I didn't know exactly where to post this, but I guess it can be seen as a SEO tool...
A recent thread at SP (http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=468337) made me wonder what you guys thought of Aaron Wall's SEOBook. I know it got the support of some really strong SEO's like Fathom, Randfish and SEOGuy. I also bought his book a couple of years ago and felt that it was well written and contained a very objective view on SEO, but more importantly where it fits into the greater online marketing scheme of things. What would you guys say about it, did any of you read it?
I haven't read it but would like to. I just never had the $79 to spend on it. I find WebCEO offer a nice course on web analytics that is completly unbiased so I would often recomend that. But like I said, I'd still love to read Aaron's book.

Just like Koz, i don't have the dough to cough up for it. I hear a lot of good things too, and it is kept up to date, so it must be rather good. However, why buy the book when you can everything you need via forums, etc?
Why was my post deleted?
I've just checked and no one's deleted your post Glen.... as you know it would leave a trace that I could see as a mod.
Yeah, last time I looked SEO Book was still a pretty good read for medium level SEO'ers. People who criticise the book say there's nothing in there you can't read in forums, blogs and articles. This is true actually, but it would take you months to sift through all the rubbish and step up a level. If you forked out $79 you could save yourself a lot of time.
Cheers,
Paz.
Hmm, I had written a pretty lengthy reply and had read it after posting

Glen, I am burning to hear what you have to say about this topic. :o
Aaron has a very good writing technique in my opinion. Reading the SEOBook will save most beginners years of "pain school fees" and will as Paz stated teach them the basics and more.

You are lucky I didn't delete this post :-D
Jokes aside, I started writing an SEO Book just over a year ago. The fact that I cannot get it finished has more to do with my lack of writing skills than anything else lol But it was difficult not to measure myself against Aaron. He did a fantastic job in keeping it straight forward and simple. It was fun to read the book, his examples of real events that has taken place also made his views easy to understand. Measuring up against him is difficult. Therefore I respect your decision. Stay away from his book, untill you are finished. It makes it impossible to stay objective if you do read it...
